Blogging on Blogging

It's almost funny when I think about it. . .blogging on blogging. But that truly is what I am doing! In creating this blog, I have learned that the process is about as difficult as boiling water. It takes almost no effort when you know what to use and can follow the most basic directions.

To create my blog, I used blogger.com. I needed only a Google account, which I created quickly and easily. Once this account was created, I went to blogger.com and followed the simple steps to begin my own blog. That was the extent of it, and here I am! I don't think it could have been easier.

Before beginning my own blog, I looked at several others. I'll admit that I found them very uninteresting. Most felt like little more than scratch paper of someone's thoughts. The entries seemed random and unorganized, disconnected from anything obvious.

The one blog I felt had anything potentially interesting enough to go back to was The Shifted Librarian. Here, Jenny, my "information maven for today," gave details that came from her panel session about Web 2.0 tools for the GMC/PCMA. This seemed to be the type of information one may find useful or of interest in some way.

On the whole, I see the usefulness in blogging, and going through the process has inspired me to begin and maintain my own blog. Given how simple and user-friendly the process is, I'll be certain to spread the word to my staff so we can all find ways to incorporate this technology into education.
